First up I have to say that I could hardly be exposed as an expert on bookmark organizers. However, one thing i do know is that I can recognise a useful app when I see one. Here we have what looks like a very handy app that can be great either for students or for professional and semi professional content presenters. Kobble is a new app for iOS that lets the user instantly create and organize great looking content whether it be for the simplest of note taking, blog or wiki creation, business presentations and slideshows, work or school projects, official papers or just your homework.

Kobble is a good looking, smart and very versatile bookmark and markdown management tool for iPhone and iPad that offers a slightly different method of organizing data to the way that similar apps tend to. It does this by letting you place all your personal data into what they call 'channels' and 'tracks,' Kobble uses a method more akin to YouTube or Spotify rather than the way that normal bookmarking apps seem to favor. Bookmarks and markdown are organised into these sharable units  - the aforementioned 'channels' and 'tracks' - which are then very easy to share with other Kobble users.

Kobble's is also a great little content sharing platform. The idea from the developers is to eventually build an open content sharing platform where users have complete control over the data. Content is created using Markdown with Kobble supporting all the common markdown formats including CommonMark and GitHub along with some advanced extensions. You can view your markdown as either a normal rendered markdown or as a presentation.  The app fully supports iOS 11 drag and drop and allows you to organise your markdown notes and bookmarks in seconds.

So, what about keeping your information secure, you say? When note taking, for example, one of the most important options is to have private access. Well, if you purchase GitHub support using the in app purchase, Kobble will store all of your data in your GitHub account with none of your data ever being transmitted to the Kobble servers.  GitHub support also enables fast and simple data sharing, letting you easily share your creations with other users. So, rather than securing your data inside Kobble, the app stores everything in your GitHub repo - giving you the opportunity to have the best privacy arrangement available. None of your data even touches Kobble servers because it is sent directly to your GitHub account. Get it?

While researching this app I noticed that there was a fair amount of confusion out there regarding the privacy issue. Some commentators took issue with the wording of Kobble's privacy arrangements and disputed the fact that users' content was actually private. A response by one of the developers states that the intros on the web have now been clarified to better reflect the privacy situation. They also stated that users could choose whether they wanted their work to be stored in a public or their own private rego based on how they log in. I hope that clears things up a little. The fact is, Kobble's is an excellent bookmarking app that will better organize the majority of users. It's available now for free (but with in-app purchases available) on the App Store for all your iOS devices.
