In a world saturated with dating apps, Lime Inc. have decided to change the rules with the launch of their mobile app, Phresh. Available for iOS, the dating app circumvents traditional dating app culture by focusing on photos taken in real time over photos uploaded from the camera roll.
A hybrid of apps like Snapchat and Tinder, Phresh has created a format wherein profiles expire after 24 hours, a strategy to combat users with stagnant profiles, those who catfish and scammers.
This new platform is of course terrifying at first, with the idea of not being able to choose your favourite photo of yourself being rather daunting. However, users can be put more at ease due to the fact that if another user wants to connect with you, they must send you a selfie of themselves first, giving you control of who can interact with you.
