Pollpic is a clever new app which allows the user to create image based polls in a few fast clicks and get opinions on the in real time. Polls can seamlessly be shared through Facebook and Twitter and votes are summarized instantly.
The brainchild of Founder and Techie Ranjet Chohan, the concept came about because his wife was indecisive about which outfits to buy. ‘She was always sending me changing room selfies of different clothes asking me which one I liked but she was also sending the same photos to several of her best friends,’ Ranjet explains ‘,And me being pressed for time (impatient) I wanted a better way to respond like swiping the image to show if I liked it. But I also secretly wanted to know what her friends thought so I could see how bad my taste in clothes really is…’
Ranjet teamed up with Alvan Whittaker – a former semi pro footballer with a background in Fashion Industry marketing – and the partnership was solidified with the addition of Josh Fleet, bringing with him his design purist approach and wealth of experience with digital startups.
The potential with Pollpic is exponential; users can feed back opinions directly to celebs or brands and have a real influence on decision making, the visual nature of the poll means that the app is engaging and playful and popular polls will trend live.
Pollpic is currently available for iPhone and Android phones in the Appstore and Playstore. The team are constantly enhancing Pollpic by adding features based on user’s feedback and are also developing an HTML plugin widget to enable other websites to use Pollpic’s voting technology and create polls within their own websites that replicate the app.
Medium term business goals are to be ‘the go to app for opinions’. Pollpic is more than a standard photo sharing app, it has a purpose, is fun to use and can collate useful data.
Pollpic is also a blank canvas. It's the users that will ultimately create the best and most interesting content for people to vote on - plus for brands and business, Pollpic will be a great way to engage with their social following and get real-time, summarized feedback.
