As I'm sure we are all aware, there are heaps of dating apps out there. Some are better than others. They've all got their individual 'thing' that sets them apart from similar apps but most offer a fairly similar scenario. Find someone who looks good, check out their profile and chat away. The emphasis is generally about getting to know someone and, if you're lucky and you seem reasonably compatible, maybe then it's time to take things further. One of the problems with this, however, is that many folks on dating apps aren't necessarily who and what they say they are. We've all seen the show Catfish. They just want a bit of online fun rather than meeting up and taking a relationship to the next level.

Rendezvous Date is a new dating app for over 18's that takes a somewhat different approach. The thought process is this:  the longer you take to meet up face to face , the less chance there it is of happening. So, rather than putting the emphasis on chatting online, the app aims to take the relationship beyond the app and actually encourages meeting up. While offering the usual swipe up / swipe down philosophy of most other dating apps, this one not only matches you with singles in your area - and even suggests locations - but also offers reviews of previous dates that your 'interesting partner' has had. Its a definite 'rate your date' that I haven't seen in other dating apps.

These last two features - the 'rate your date' reviews and the date location suggestions - not only offer something a little new in the dating business, they also provide an element of safety. Rendezvous users are able to browse dates in their area which have already been scheduled during times in which they are free. The users will then select the dates they wish to go on and, if the interest is mutual, they have bagged themselves a date. After every specific date, users can leave feedback to be viewed by anyone else that shows interest. Rendezvous users are able to browse dates in their area which have already been scheduled during times in which they are free.

Rendezvous Date was created with the user in mind and came about after developer Jason Paul had tried several other dating apps. He was finding them both unpredictable and unreliable so he worked on improving the concept and designed it to add a different element to facilitate the dating game and to give users a higher success rate in finding the love of their life. Everything is geared towards meeting up at a designated location after the initial process of mutual like.

Rendezvous Date is a new and free app for both Android and iOS that is all about meeting people rather than spending valuable time messaging and browsing actual dates rather than scrolling through profiles. It can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store. It was founded on the idea that people spend too much time on their phones, rather than meeting new people face to face. Its slogan is “Going on a Great Date Can be Hard, We Make it Easy”. Let's hope it serves it's purpose well.
