An app to keep the international traveler always in the money

Life is never easy when you are traveling in another country. For a start, you are in unfamiliar territory and you probably don't know the lay of the land and how the place 'works.' It's often hard enough to find your hotel, let alone all the other things you may gut need to remember. The last thing you need is to run out of funds, right? Maybe the only money you've got on hand is the cash that you've got in your purse or wallet. So, do you ask for recommendations at the hotel or do you roam the streets looking for a bank or a currency exchange booth? What's more, when you've found one, ...  More

A fully customized and professional website creator for a fraction of the price

If ever there was a time to have your business website up and running it is now. For both small and big business it's never been quite as important to have an online presence that sits alongside a bricks and mortar enterprise. That's not a huge problem for bigger establishments that can afford to splash out on costly website creation teams but, for small business, it is an expense that seems hard to justify. What tends to happen is that they will choose a do-it-yourself free service like Wix or Aircus to advertise and promote themselves. While there's nothing wrong with either of those two ...  More

A cool new film site that delivers what you want

Remember those heady days when you used to be able to visit your local movie rental  store and could ask the person behind the counter "what's good?" If you were lucky and had a good store you could build a rapport to the point where they would know exactly the kind of film you were looking for with just a few quick questions. We're not talking about blockbusters here because they tend to sell themselves. We're talking about films like Donnie Darko, True Romance and Strange Days. Films that would have done nothing if it wasn't for the recommendations of the person behind the counter. ...  More

Keep your body fit and healthy and avoid diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is one of a group of metabolic diseases where the body produces high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period of time. If left uncontrolled and untreated it can lead to serious long-term complications including heart disease, stroke, chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers and eye damage. In 2015 it was estimated that over 400 million people worldwide had a form of diabetes - which is over 8% of the world's population. The disease more than doubles the risk of early death and between the years 2012-15 it was estimated that between 1.5 and 5 million deaths could be ...  More

Take me with you when you house hunt

I don't know about you, but the first thing I check when viewing a new property to rent is always the water pressure. For me, there's nothing worse than jumping into the shower in the morning only to find the water luke warm. There are so many things that need to be checked on when inspecting a new property to rent or buy that the water temperature is an easy thing to miss. Improve your math skills as well as your reaction time

Back before computers were a regular thing, there was a game that taught players how to improve their math skills whilst providing a fun passtime. Strangely enough, it wasn't anything particularly technical. It was the noble and age-old game of darts! Players would have to count down from 301 or 501 after throwing and counting their darts score and you'd be surprised how quickly they could work out in their head just how many there were left to score and win the game. Consequently, i'm pretty convinced that the maths skills of many back then were much better than they are now.  More

Reflex-intensive gaming action that turns into an adrenaline rush

There are so many different types of games on the app market these days with each catering to a slightly different audience. Some like intricate puzzle games that force you to use your brain while some are fonder of the simple shoot-em-up style games that are all about reaction times and accuracy rather than logic and strategy. The most popular ones tend to be the 'Candy Crush' style games that test one's observatory skills and the role-playing games that sees the player pitted against an evil nemesis. Not everyone loves games like those, however. Some like games like this one...  More

A live streaming app that could well be the new Snapchat for the under thirties

It was Andy Warhol who came up with the quote back in the sixties that everybody wants to have their 15 minutes of fame. Before the digital age that was pretty much all the time they had to announce themselves to the world by showcasing themselves and their talents. Given the nature of the beast, most of them were shot down in flames pretty quickly and were never heard from again. However, given the way that the Internet works these days it's possible to put yourself out there for a lot longer and put yourself on the world stage - if you know the right paths to take.  More

A new kind of puzzle game to rival Tetris?

I'm guessing that most of us have, at some point in our lives, played the phenomena that is the Tetris game. For the first 100 or so times we play it, it's a fascinating and engaging puzzle game that manages to test our skill and challenges our reaction times whilst helping us to pass the time quite nicely. However, after a while, it just turns into a bit of an addiction where all you really want to do is to beat the system. I hate to call it boring but there is a limit to the amount of times I can play it without wanting to throw my device against a wall. Haha!  More
