Over the years we've seen hundreds of travel apps pass through the offices of FeedMyApp for review. I don't quite know why it is but I can honestly say that we've loved most of them. Maybe it is that hankering to get away from our humdrum lives and find a nice desert island somewhere to relax on - somewhere that’s away from wars, politicians and the Kardashians. We'd probably all go away together if it wasn't for the fact that it's a pain in the ass to organize. More
If i asked you which was the more popular entertainment for American families between major league sporting events, theme parks and museums, my guess is that you wouldn't pick museums. They have long been considered to be a bit old hat and stodgy and full of nothing but ancient relics. Surely no kid would want to see that, would they? Well, according to a 2011 study, there are over 850 million visits to museums each year. That's just about the same amount as the other two put together. Museums are actually very popular, it seems. If you've ever been the poor sucker who has been put in charge of planning a group trip or organizing corporate travel, I can only have sympathy for you because it can be a hugely time consuming operation. If you're lucky, you have a great travel agent who knows all the deals, all the places to visit and where to get the best tickets for events. Unfortunately, finding one with that much knowledge is not the easiest thing. It doesn't end there either. Even after the trip is over, there are still all the bits and bobs to take care of and, if anything goes wrong, there only going to be one ... More
If I told you that there was a social network out there that had over 4 million users across 250 countries and regions and you've never heard of it, my guess is that you'd be a little surprised. I certainly was when I first came across Taptrip. This free social network for Android connects you with new friends from all over the world via photo posting and chat. Thats all very well, but how does one get across the language barriers, you're probably asking? Well, Taptrip automatically translates your posts into any of 17different languages, enabling seamless communication with your new ... More
It wasn't that long ago that car insurance was simply insurance. There wasn't a lot of difference between one company and the next and the main factors in determining the premiums we pay for insurance was our age and the classification of the vehicle we are driving. However, in many countries these days there's another area that can affect the level of payment. In most US states, for example, any moving violations can assess points on your driving record. As a result, with more points tending to indicate future violations, insurance companies review driving records every now and again and ... More
I think it was Steve Martin who said in the Grand Canyon movie, "The answer to all of life's problems are in the movies." There are a lot of movies out there so I'm sure that's true in general but I don't think any movie has offered up a remedy for world peace just yet. I think we all agree that the big problems can be very difficult to solve but smaller ones might have a chance...given the right advice. Ask The Guides: Success is an entertaining, interactive oracle reading app for iOS that allows the user to ask any question that is posing a problem. Once you have asked the oracle your ... More
Anyone who is a regular reader of FeedMyApp reviews will know just how much we love a new and innovative travel app. To be quite honest, we feel a little starved of great ones of late. Despite the plethora of travel related apps that exploded onto our lives in the early days of app development, there haven't been that many recently that have managed to stir the interest of this would be traveler. However, here's one that could be very interesting to the more adventurous amongst us. VidPal offers a new concept in discovering new places by asking fellow travelers or locals to post real time ... It would appear that, after the horrors and belt-tightening that resulted from the GFC a few years ago, there seems to be a little bit of money back in the pocket again. It took around 10-15 years for the turnaround to happen after the crash of '29 so we've probably done a good job in minimizing the damage so far. I think we've learned a few things out of this crisis though. The main thing i think that we've learned is that it's never been more important to organize ourselves monetarily and that it's vital to live within our means. A budget is essential -especially where families are ... More
I'm betting that you, like me, have absolutely no idea that airlines have regulations in force that let you collect compensation for various flying conditions that may interrupt your trip. That's probably because the airlines like to keep it a secret and hide details in the fine print of your contract. The fact is, if your flight is delayed or cancelled or you are denied the right to board for some reason you may be eligible for some form of recompense from the airline involved. This is also true for some baggage related issues including loss or damage. ClaimAir is an easy to use travel ... More
