A great looking movie app for recommendations and info

Back in an earlier life I ran DVD and video stores. Good ones too, if I do say so myself. They were stores where you could come in and talk to the people behind the counter and walk out with a great film that you might or might not have heard of. You could rely on those kinda stores to provide you with good knowledge and excellent film recommendations because we knew what we were doing and we loved movies of all kinds.   More

Make your iOS device your camera and your Apple Watch your viewfinder to the world

Regular FeedMyApp readers might remember a review that we conducted last year of an excellent photo and video application for iOS8 called Camera Plus. Our thoughts were that, despite a plethora of great iOS camera apps available on the market (not to mention the excellent default camera that is built in to both iPhone and iPad,) Camera Plus was one of the better ones we had come across because of its sheer convenience and the fact that it is a hell of a lot of fun to use. This simple to use and newly updated version offers budding photographers all the previous features like instant photo ...  More

Free set of tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint for your iPhone and iPad

One of the accusations often leveled at Apple over the years is that anything over the basic model often costs an arm and a leg. The cost of an essential item like Office or Photoshop was so expensive that many would rather hunt up a dodgy copy rather than forking out hundreds of dollars to Apple for the privilege of using the original. Things have changed dramatically in recent times however - seemingly due to the immense popularity of iPhone and iPad devices. Nowadays, there are a heap of different Office styled apps available for iOS as well as its individual components like the word ...  More

Accept credit card payments quickly and easily no matter where you are

There's been plenty of talk over the years about the cashless society. In an ideal world we would just need a swipeable card in our wallet or purse rather than having our pockets full of cash and coins. Unfortunately, the concept has stumbled over the last few years for a number of reasons. First and foremost being the reluctance of small business to get involved in yet another complicated piece of technology not to mention the fees - some hidden - that can be charged. However, with most of us owning a smartphone nowadays, the opportunity for anyone and everyone to accept credit card ...  More

Security for your computer with added locate and alert features

You'd think we'd have all learned our lesson these days about computer security. While Edward Snowden's efforts are probably out of the leagues of most people, it does seem rather silly to leave our work computers unlocked and vulnerable when we are away from our desk or when we go home at night. That's why the Gatekeeper Chain (or GK Chains) app was created. It lets you auto-lock and unlock your computer when you walk away and toward it...amongst other things. Gatekeeper - Locate and Alert is an Android and iOS app that works in conjunction with the GK Chain and offers additional features ...  More

Answer your customer queries immediately by putting a live chat widget on your website

Without a doubt, one of the most frustrating things about dealing with businesses is trying to communicate with them. Whether it is dealing with an automated telephone system where you have to press countless buttons just to reach a human being or simply being kept on hold for ages listening to bad Kenny G musak. It's not an ideal situation. Big business does have the benefit of having plenty of staff to answer queries but, if you are a small organization, you generally aren't afforded that luxury. Pure Chat is a live chat application for iOS and Android that lets you place a fully ...  More

Is Sort It this year's Tetris?

It's around this time of year that many of us will start to think of all those packages that are likely to be delivered containing Christmas presents from our loved ones. In the US alone, it's reckoned that the Postal Service will deliver over 450 million different packages over the holiday season with deliveries being increased to 7 days a week. It makes you wonder how all those packages get sorted quickly and correctly so that we get the right parcel delivered and at the right time. Maybe they trained their workers by using this snappy little 3D puzzle game for iOS.  Sort It is a ...  More

A customizable and unique weather app where you only see what you want to see

Being a bit of an artist in my spare time, I've been looking at a lot of clouds lately. The most amazing thing about them is that, apart from their basic atmospheric structure, every single one of them is completely different. Unfortunately, most of the apps that track and inform us about our weather, tend not to be quite so unique. Here is one that takes its name from one of the most beautiful cloud formations up there and offers something a little more bespoke. Cirrus One has been in development for a number of years and finally gets its chance to add a bit of sunshine to the tired ...  More
