What if someone had offered free Facebook shares way back then?

If somebody had asked you to get involved with an online social network called Facebook all those years ago do you think you would have taken it any further? If you did, of course, you would probably be sitting pretty right now. So if a new social network was about to start up that has something new to offer and offered you the chance to get involved during the pre-organizational stage, would you be interested? You'd be crazy not to look at it. GlobAllShare claims to be the future of social networking. It also offers the chance for early subscribers who contribute to its growth to benefit ...  More

Create your own "Leonard Maltin-style" movie database

Since the glory days of movies, when Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide was to be seen on pretty much every film fan's bookshelf, all of us movie buffs have wanted to create a database of films we have watched. The Maltin guides would often feature movie reviews highlighted in different colors for 'films seen' and 'films not seen yet' and this is where a specific iPhone app is the obvious choice to take its place. Watched is a beautiful looking film tracking and review application where you can list, rate, review and share your personal movie collection with your friends.   Watched is a ...  More

The first app to generate and playback high quality face morphing video in real-time

Everyone loves a picture warping application and FaceFilm is definitely one of the better photo apps that we have seen here at the FeedMyApp office. Believe me, we've had heaps of fun with this one. So why has this app proved so popular? Well, you must have seen those short films where someone takes a face shot every day for one, ten or twenty years and strings them all together to show how you have developed and changed over the years. FaceFilm isn't going to tie you down for years on end taking self portraits but you can put a series of photos together from young to old. The app then ...  More

Social recommendations from fellow users

It's often said that critics are simply failed performers who got out of the bed the wrong way before they saw the film, played the game or visited the restaurant but that's not really fair. There are some great reviewers around these days with a pure passion for the things they love - but they are getting few and far between. Personally, I have a rule that I never review anything that I don't like, whether it is an app, a movie or a piece of music. But, with everybody seemingly having an opinion about everything these days, it seems the most reliable form of reviewing might well be by ...  More

300 of the most influential fim festivals

The last ten years or so have not proven kind for independent filmmakers. IFilmFest is an iOS application that gives the filmmaker a comprehensive guide to all the biggest film festivals around the world. This up to date movie application gives you ...  More

Make fun, cool, effect-laden films on your iphone

There had to be a better thing to be done with your iPhone camera than taking random films of your friends being silly or shaky long shots of your favorite band. Cineverse is a creative movie-making app that lets you film a short movie  on your iPhone, add captions, images and text to it along with character photos of your friends. Create a title and end credits and you've got yourself something far more amusing than a film of your friend stuffing a whole burger into his mouth, don't you think?   Cineverse is a movie-making video application where you direct a short movie using ...  More

A shelfload of movies and tv floating in the cloud

Having worked in the movie and video industry for quite a few years I can spot a film buff at twenty paces. They are often a bit of a loner and can have weird obsessions with b-grade actors like Dolph Lundgren or Sean Young. You know the type. AirShelf is a nice and simple free tv and movies application that is kept in the cloud. It's a place where movie and tv geeks of all persuasions can list and display movies, read reviews and watch trailers and then recommend their favorites to their friends in true film buff style.   It's a funny thing about the true film fan (or music or book ...  More

Why didn't Netflix think of this 'coming soon' feature?

I always find it amusing when someone sees a hole in the market and comes up with an app for something we all know should have been included in the service in the first place. I guess Instagram is a classic example - if Facebook had its photo uploading shit together it wouldn't have to have forked out 100 million big ones for a simple photo app. StreamThing is the simplest idea for an app. It tells you when movies and tv shows that you want to see are due to be shown on Netflix instant streaming. Now why didn't someone at the US's biggest online movie channel think of that?   Its been ...  More
