Taking photo and video sharing to a new level

The social media world is an ever changing one. It goes through static moments where little seems to change and then another network comes along that slightly kinks the model a little bit. Facebook started it off and then there was Twitter for words, Instagram for photos and i read recently that users now send over 2 billion Snapchat photos and videos every day. Astonishing! So why do we need another social network to complicate our lives even further?  More

A group trip planner that solves four familiar problems

Over the years we've seen hundreds of travel apps pass through the offices of FeedMyApp for review. I don't quite know why it is but I can honestly say that we've loved most of them. Maybe it is that hankering to get away from our humdrum lives and find a nice desert island somewhere to relax on - somewhere that’s away from wars, politicians and the Kardashians. We'd probably all go away together if it wasn't for the fact that it's a pain in the ass to organize.  More

Both a unique marketing tool and a fun photosharing surprise

Rickrolling was a phrase that came about because of a unique piece of music marketing some years ago. Some genius marketer came up with a 'bait and switch' concept that provided a hyperlink being triggered when a person clicked on an interesting picture. Rather than the link taking them where they were expecting to go, it took them to a music video by British singer Rick Astley and his hit single "Never Gonna Give You Up." People who clicked were known as rickrollers. The campaign was hailed as an innovative - if rather sneaky - marketing success and had the effect of rejuvenating ...  More

Create a social network to show off your selfies in real-time

If someone asks you whether you've been 'whese-ing' these days, you might be mistaken into thinking that they were inquiring about your health. However, there's another use of the word that has less to do with the state of your health and more to do with your state of your social selfie. Whese is a new, free photo-sharing application for iOS that throws the word 'whese-ing' into our online vocabulary. This simple to use, real-time app is ideal for the serial selfie taker and allows users to share every moment of their lives with their Whese friends. When you want to share your hellish day...

We all have bad days from time to time but sometimes they are difficult to put into words. Sure, you can tell your friends that you woke up with a bad headache and the cat had thrown up in the kitchen and you missed the train to work but it does seem like a bit of a whinge when you see that on your favorite social network first thing in the morning. As the old saying goes...a picture tells a thousand words. Hellfie is a photo sharing app that turns into a social network for those moments when only a picture can truly convey what a dreadful day you've been having.   The Oxford ...  More

A convenient and fun way of geolocating your travel photos and discovering new places

When modern smartphones and GPS capable cameras introduced their geolocation capabilities a while back, an opportunity was created for some enterprising entrepreneur to take full advantage of it. One in particular realized that it was all very well to display one's photographs but it wasn't quite so easy to remember where and when they were taken. The developers realized that when you take a photo using the new technology, your device logs the coordinates where the photo was taken. So, utilizing that information, they created UrbanBird to log your photo details automatically with dates, ...  More

Upgrade from a selfie to a Selphee with added video

The word Selfie was named 'word of the year' by the Oxford Dictionaries recently - it didn't go down very well with a lot of people. The words that it was in contention with at the end were "binge-watch, " "twerk" and "showrooming" - none of which set the world on fire...well, maybe twerking is pretty cool (isn't it Miley?) Funnily enough, the word selfie was apparently first coined by a student in Australia who labelled his photo with that name after he'd fallen over, split his lip and posted a picture of his faceonline. So what's that got to do with this iOS app you might ask - except ...  More

A great set of free photo edit tools to create GIF's and other cool stuff for your blog

Readers who tune into our reviews on a reasonably regular basis will know just how much we love a good photo editing application. Usually they tend to be a single function set of tools that will use different filters to turn your photos into something special. Quite often, these days, I will use two or maybe three different apps to achieve some truly artistic masterpieces - well, I think so, anyway. So it's kinda rare when a free app comes along that gives you multiple photo editing tools. Viscomsoft Social Galleries is a photo sharing and photo editing tool that gives you over twenty ...  More
