A simple notebook to keep all your stuff in

Do you remember when your dad put his suit jacket on when he went to work he would always fill the pockets with stuff before he left the house? With mine it was always his glasses, his wallet, various pens and pencils as well as a note pad which was filled to capacity with loose sheets drawings, notes and phone numbers. While it was kinda endearing, I'm pleased to say that a better solution has been found for the tatty notepad and it's contents. SketchWorthy is a great little notebook application for iOS where you can keep all the important stuff that my dad kept in his - except that here ...  More

Goodbye autocorrect - hello intuitive faster writing

If you write on your iPhone or iPad pretty well every day as I do you will learn to both love and loathe its autocorrect abilities. Regular users, I'm sure, will understand exactly what I mean. But whereas the autocorrect facility corrects words after they have been written, PredictiveTyper is a far more user friendly tool as it learns from your writing style and predicts the way you write in real time. The app can be used to create as well as edit  documents as well as enabling you to send text and email from your iDevice faster and more accurately than ever before.   ...  More

Try out paid eco-friendly apps for free

It would be nice to think that, in these times of undoubted climate change, the general public would be ready to try and find their inner greenness. Unfortunately, most of us are pretty lazy when it comes to environmental issues and, unless it is laid out in front of us, we put it in the 'too-hard' basket. A good way to get the message across is, of course, the app and there are a lot of great eco-friendly apps out there that will certainly educate. Sadly, they can get overlooked in the thousands of apps that get released each year. EcoAppsFree is a new iOS application that offers all ...  More

Organize your emails across all your cloud formats

Everybody hates filing stuff away, don't they. It's the most boring job in the office and nobody likes to be the one to do it. So, despite our best intentions, there always seems to be a bunch of stuff to file away at the end of every day. Eventually, that pile gets so big that it's unmanageable. Personally though, it's not so much the filing that gets to me as trying to find what I'm looking for afterwards and working out what I filed it under. Well, Openera just came into your life to solve both those problems at the same time. Here is a cloud-based, document management application that ...  More

There's plenty of talk lately about the price of petrol . Whether it is the fluctuation of price, your car's fuel efficiency or simply the Iranians forcing up the cost of a barrel with their disruptive techniques, the bottom line is how much it's going to cost you at the bowser. Fuel Monitor is a new productivity application for iOS that calculates the exact cost of your trip based on your specific vehicle type as well as the price of your gas. This is particularly useful when splitting the cost of your trip with friends or, even more importantly, if you have to let your boss know how much ...  More

While I was doing a little background research about this finance tips application it was hard not to see the plethora of mentions of developer Ramit Sethi. He runs a blog called I Will Teach You To Be Rich and has now released this monetary guide based on his ability to negotiate his way out of everything from bank fees to car insurance whilst also teaching you how to best negotiate your next wage rise.   Negotiate It is for anyone who ...  More

Send family and friends warm thoughts wherever you are

We are all so busily involved in our own lives these days that it's easy to forget to tell the ones that we love how we feel about them. Often we are far removed in distance from friends and family that the only way we can keep in touch is via the telephone and through various online methods including social networks and email. While the Internet is a godsend for instant communication there is no doubt it can be a little 'cold' when it comes to emotions. Thinking Of You is a new free messaging and productivity application for iOS that gives you a better and more personal way of expressive ...  More
