It's a strange thing we are going through at the moment with new startups entering the Main Street retail arena. Whenever I walk down the street in my local town, the biggest changes I'm seeing are plenty of massage and fitness clubs, nail adornment stores, women's clothing stores and new restaurants. Have a look yourself the next time you are in town. It's reckoned that if you are still in business after a year, you are doing pretty well. So, if you are a new restaurant, it's more important than ever to be using the right point of sale (POS) system to ensure you are running ... More
You know...there are way too many reasons to ensure that you have good mental math skills. If nothing else, its pretty important that you know how to count the change back into your hand after a purchase. But probably just as important as that is the self confidence that it gives you in your daily life, not to mention the perception of others towards you. Like it or not, someone who can add up or subtract is afforded more respect in society than one who cant. Lets face it, we can't all walk around and fish out a calculator from our pocket every time we need to do a quick calculation, can ... More
You just have to look around town to see that personal fitness has become one of the boom industries of the 21st Century. Every time you turn your head there seems to be yet another fitness centre opening up where all the old DVD stores used to be. It's a sign of the times. What’s more, every second person you meet seems to be a personal trainer. Mind you, if you wanna sign up with one, you'll find them pretty expensive. There is however, a much cheaper way to get all the benefits that a personal trainer offers without having to take out a second mortgage on the house. More

Given the high price of rental residences in major cities it's hardly surprising that there are more and more share houses these days with several people splitting the cost of the rent and household expenses. In many cases, the first time they meet each other is when they move in - especially when we are talking about student accommodation. It's all good fun at first. Parties every night and new friends to get to know. But then comes the crunch when the place starts to get dirty and one person ends up doing most of the cleaning and another gets lumped with buying the food. That's the point ... More
If you've ever been the poor sucker who has been put in charge of planning a group trip or organizing corporate travel, I can only have sympathy for you because it can be a hugely time consuming operation. If you're lucky, you have a great travel agent who knows all the deals, all the places to visit and where to get the best tickets for events. Unfortunately, finding one with that much knowledge is not the easiest thing. It doesn't end there either. In a recent study, it was found that an astonishing 1.2 billion people are part of the worldwide gaming community with around 700 million playing games online. To cater for these game-aholics, there are a whole heap of wannabe games released every week for your mobile or tablet. Most of them are little more than addictive time wasters that while away a few minutes on your commute to and from work or keep you amused as you lay on the couch in the evening. Sadly, most don't teach you a great deal apart from maybe increasing your reaction time in a pressure situation. But word games are ... More
Independent games developer Steampunk Wizard’s first game in their Mummy series was an action-adventure-puzzler called Bungee Mummy: King’s Escape. It was an an exciting and funny Egyptian themed, level-based game for Android and iOS where you had to swing around ancient tombs like Spider-Man and defeat the evil Solark who has stolen your throne. Now they've released a follow up game called Challenges that, rather than competing on individual levels, consists of four mini games to test your tapping, swiping, pulling and flicking skills. More
Is there anything more frustrating and completely pointless for a motorist than getting a parking fine? We all know that half the time it's simply a revenue earner for the company or local jurisdiction and it doesn't seem to matter too much whether you are one minute or one hour over your time limit. Parking inspectors take little notice and the fine seems to be exactly the same. Parking.RIP is a new GPS based app for Android and iOS that helps in a number of ways and makes parking fines history.
