Warp your photos into cool caricatures

Ah well, it seems that everyone wants a wacky photo in their collection. Most cameras on your computer seem to have a few filters these days to warp our photos into almost unrecognizable bastardizations. Some of us just share them with their friends for a laugh while some find it a good way to produce a profile picture that is not only funny but also disguises them a little. Photo Deformer is a new photo editing app for smartphones that lets you warp and deform your photos and turn you portrait into a caricature of your former self.   Photo Deformer is a unique set of photo editing ...  More

Bring out the Wallace and Gromit in you with stop motion

Well here is a very pleasant surprise. photo2video is the underwhelming name of this new and unique stop-motion video app that will delight and amaze you and your friends alike. This rather plain looking app with the even plainer name appears to be nothing more than a simple photo editing app but what lies inside its inconsequential outer package is far more interesting. With this simple yet rewarding app you can capture a set of photos and create your very own stop motion short movie and, just maybe, set you on the way to become the next Martin Scorsese or Nick Park.   photo2video ...  More

When it comes right down to it, SharpaFede Communicator is a bit like having a slimmed down social network that's designed specifically for your mobile device. This java-mobile communication platform uses your regular contacts as well as new ones you make to connect and communicate in broader, more social and more intuitive terms on your mobile phone. The app lets you get social with an intuitive and classy-looking user interface that integrates seemlessly with the app's communicative features like video, voice, chat ...  More

Free video chat and the future of communication

Back before Facebook hit its tipping point and took over the world it used to be so much fun to get on MSN or Yahoo and chat with your friends all around the world. You could video chat and have conference calls where others could join in and, despite it's limitations, it served its purpose exceptionally well. But when Facebook added chat to its arsenal of goodies it signaled the slow demise of that format and I read recently that Microsoft are shutting down MSN in favor of a revamped Skype setup in 2013. Facebook really hasn't developed the chat box concept and there's definitely room to ...  More

It's Idol and The Voice...internet style

There used to be a covers band based in London a few years ago called Gabba who featured a hugely tall singer and performed Abba songs in the style of The Ramones - ie fast! I was always convinced that it would turn into a music genre that would take hold. Imagine doing all the Bob Dylan songs in the style of Bob Marley or maybe Kanye West songs in the style of Taylor Swift (can't wait for that one.) Sadly it didn't really take off but the fate of the cover version was taken up by shows like Glee, American Idol and The Voice and we all know how popular those shows have become. The Covr is ...  More
